Meet Roxanne

Roxanne graduated from UL with an architecture degree, even while raising three kids and working (boss-babe alert)! She is an avid world traveller who grew up in a capital city and a time where fashion was much like that of the greats- Paris, Milan, or New York. And being in design for 25 years, she's got an eye for whats right. Mixing classic beauty rules with the newest fashion trends is what makes Roxanne a perfectly well rounded consultant. You’ll never catch Roxanne without her nails done and makeup on. When she’s not at the shop, you can find Roxanne in her garden, or planning her next dinner party full of the most inspiring, loyal and down to earth individuals. Haven’t been to one yet? C’mon, cher! The more the marry-er!

Best bridal advice she’s ever gotten?

Of the mementos you keep after your wedding, your pictures and the preservation of your gown are among the most important! So in this sense, your gown is one of THE most single important things on your wedding day! But with this being said, who cares if its in style 20 years from now? You’re getting married now, you are who you are in this moment, now. Pick what you love now! That memory is going to stay with you. How you felt in your gown on your big day wth stay with you, even in those 20 year old pictures you’ll share with you’re children one day. So, try not to listen to that person in your life who is asking you if you’ll still love your dress decades from now. You have your own style, girl! Pick something that makes you feel like the best version of yourself- THAT you won’t regret and the proof will be in your smile!

Meet Shayda

Shayda grew up traveling the world and in the arts. She spent her summers abroad in Italy studying art, architecture and the art of Italian cooking, or hiking through the mountains of South Africa. This self proclaimed lover of love, grew up outside digging in the mud and pretending she was the female Indiana Jones- presumably where she gets her love of all things hats, boots, and archeology from. After working as a personal stylist in Texas for 6 years, she realized it was her hometown that had her heart, so she moved back to Lafayette poured her love into opening Le Jour Couture with Roxanne for the brides of Acadiana! Her favorite thing is helping brides find a perfectly personalized and completed bridal look, and the look in their faces when they say yes!  When she’s not helping brides find their perfect wedding day ensemble, or planning the next runway show, you can catch Shayda on a kayak, at a picnic, or obsessively updating and rearranging her home decor- cozy is key!

Best bridal advice she’s ever gotten?

Hayley Paige said in one of her speeches, “I’m really not afraid to get emotional when i talk about love. Because it is just a privilege to get out there and pick your person—The fact that I get to hustle for love, that i get to do it for a living, is crazy. Not a day goes by that I take what I do for granted. That I don’t stop and take serious inventory of the fact that I get to be an instrument for something not only grater than myself, but grater than my craft. As an industry we owe it to ourselves and to those we are here to serve, to get SWEPT AWAY in love. In fact our own ability to give and receive love is what allows us to best serve our demographic. The best thing you can do for your business is give yourself an allowance for love. To empathize with our customer and get on their frequency to which they are vibing is the greatest edge and advantage we have as artists and entrepreneurs in this industry.”
